Coronavirus Impact

Coronavirus Impact

Hello, you lovely lot,

Now I don’t know about you, but I can’t quite believe what is happening in the world right now. Seems like such a scary and uncertain time for us all. I hope you are all staying safe and well. New normality seems to be so much closer now.

So many countries worldwide went on lockdown and with less human activity, we got to see the natural world more clearly. The fog in China had lifted and you could see the sunshine once again. Venice waters had cleared to see dolphins swimming around. As I am sure you know this is so wonderful to see, however, this is still not helping the climate crisis we are in. Many bad things are still happening every day.

These small changes are only short-term and not the most sustainable way to reduce emissions. Before we know it the world will be back to how it was before. Millions of cars are back on the roads and planes flying everyone around the world again. I don’t know about you, but I have seen so many people just go back to the old normal already. It’s quite scary.

I think we can only hope that companies and the government can see the environmental benefits of a country going on lockdown. Here at The Greener Earth Project we already work from home, so for us, it wasn’t such a big change. However, our weekly meetings are now all done via video calls. I know many people in my family and friends who have said they love working from home. Let me tell you it’s not the easiest, but I have learnt a few tricks on the way. Now if the companies they work for listen they will be able to reduce their company emissions. They wouldn’t have as many employees commuting to and from work. Their office space wouldn’t need to be so large which all helps the planet. I understand this won’t work for a lot of companies, but it could be a change in the right direction. You would have seen on the news that Twitter has changed the way it will work moving forward.

The Greener Earth Project can help individuals, couples and families reduce their carbon footprint. All you have to do is use the carbon calculator to work out your footprint. Then select the membership which works for you. We do all the hard work for you so you can concentrate on your everyday life.

As I have scrolled through social media I have noticed so many more people being eco-savvy. Not being about to pop to the shop quickly or get online deliveries has meant that people are being more clever. Whether this is by using leftovers to make new dishes or using scraps for composting. It’s nice to see all the positives coming out of this.

Over the next few posts, I will be sharing some of my family’s favourites to use up all the food in my house. If your house is like mine the sweet treats will be gone within minutes.

Until next time, please stay safe!

Thank you for reading,

Love Demi x
